Why were so many New Plymouth societies removed at once?
They were not removed individually. The Incorporated Societies Act 2022 gave every existing society until 5 April 2026 to reregister, and everything that had not done so came off the register together the next day — in New Plymouth and everywhere else in New Zealand.
